eportfolios for educators

Recently I was talking about eportfolios with Deb Petty at Swinburne and she was able to share this valuable link with us. In the Queensland University site there are good examples of eportfolios to view.

Access these at:

A few of the LearnScope teams are focussing on the pedagogy of eportfolios for teachers and learners. Today I was interested to see a relevant conversation beginning in one of August forums of the national community. You may find it useful to login and contribute your eportfolio questions or ideas to this topic:
What tools are you using for eportfolios?

Here's some useful advice I found in one of the links provided by Ray Tolley from the UK.

Its a good idea to work through a set of criteria that you wish to incorporate in your eportfolio before deciding on the tool you require. And I particularly like this set (located in the link provided by Ray - the Minnesota eFolio project) at this location:
  1. Reflect: Reflect on what you’ve accomplished in school and in your career, and how it fits with your goals.
  2. Collect: Collect the information for your electronic portfolio. To learn more about what to include, read below. (Note: a link was provided to What to Include)
  3. Select: Select those documents that are most pertinent to your goals and keep them handy as you work on your electronic portfolio.
  4. Build: Build your site using the electronic portfolio tool. For ideas on what you can do with your electronic portfolio, see Gallery.
  5. Publish: Publish your portfolio. You can let others read all, or parts of, your site. Targeting is helpful if you have multiple skills and are open to a number of different employment options.

If you want to know what to include in your eportfolio visit the What to include link above, and if you'd like to see some professional eportfolios then visit the Gallery link above.

THIS PAGE WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO CONTINUE OUR CONVERSATIONS ABOUT EPORTFOLIOS.

Note: Just login and use the EasyEdit Toolbar to make your changes. Don't forget to save.
